I have made a first attempt to make a webpage and some gfx. It is not 100% finished and still a little buggie here and there. But I guess it is redy to get judged ;-)
I am thankfull for any critics, tips or comments.
Best greatings.

change the font color of the coypright part. so it will be more visible
what you think if you make the intro site, bit smaller so you wont need the scroller
the legal link, change the font color, and use something to separate each paragrah, because it kindda blends with the background, and so many letters all togethermakes the viewer feel afraid. you can actually just make a simple not too long legal notice.

I like the look. Black and White with just a touch of color...almost looks like one of your electronic games. I did not enjoy having to scroll so much though.

The images (buttons etc.) are too big for me. Also some edges are crooked.

The page should be smaller. Try to make it fit in a 800x600 monitor. Also, the buttons are big. I would like to see smaller buttons and more space for content.

The effects that you apply on your buttons and graphics in general clutter the overall image and do not convey a professional feel to your site, if you want my sincere opinion.
Try a layout with solid colours, compare and decide which one is better :)

Thanks for your replies. I started to change a few things accordingly and will keep on improving it.
@ greenidentity: What would you recommend how I could improve my buttons. I have tried a lot of different designs. The buttons seem to be a hard subject for me.
@ crazy man: What exactly would you say how I could make the generall design more unique?

Best regards.

Diaforic,
do not change the design for the time being, just make some small modifications which will have a great effect. As a first thing, get rid of the effects you have applied on them, in Photoshop I suppose, and let the colours as they are. Clean them up a bit by integrating the writing only in the black space of your buttons.
For a better understanding, I have made a quick thingie myself to show you exactly what I am talking about without changing too much your basic idea. :)
Mine is just a suggestion, in the end you should make them the way you feel better ;)

Hey,

Good for your first attempt, my first website was alot worse than that :)

I dont like the buttons too much myself and some of the images look a bit pixelated too, but the layout is good and some parts are great.

I would reccomend formatting the legal area, its a huge block of text and very uninviting to read. By simply seperating it into paragraphs it would look alot better.

Hope this helps and good luck with the website.

Dean
