So I was doodling on Christmas and came up with this:

If you know who Paul Kidby is (www.paulkidby.com), he illustrates for the Discworld Series (by Terry Pratchett). I really enjoy his work, and I tried a style similar (but simpler) to his. Tell me what you think! :D

I like the concept, lol but if you imagine that it's lying down on its side, it looks like it's, well, dead :p

Very Cool :)

I would love to see this vectorized and fully illustrated. I think it could make a cool children's book or some sort of comic.

Thanks Neupix!
I might be vectorizing this (or my other doodles) in the future.

Hey ! nice original work !

a couple of mistakes just jump at me.
its 2 ears are the same side, facing us. its right hand is further but is still bigger than its left one. something is wrong with its right wing.
And totally drop the shadow, it only stresses the fact that it is 2D.
but it's still a nice piece, funny and refreshing ! good job.

About your 2nd drawing :
I like it as well ! You were right on about the heart attack, its hands suggest some suffering.
The tail does not look like it's flowing away from us though. And I think its teeth look like they are above its jaw.

A full profile and a full front :D interesting choices.
I'm sorry I sound like I'm criticizing a lot, but it's not my aim. I hope that pointing out the small errors you made might help you. Good luck, and good job for those.

Hi dorian,
No prob! I appreciate the constructive critisicm, and I'll keep it in mind next time. :) I was mainly doodling (at least with the first one) so there may have been some perspective problems there (the ears are actually correct, there's no blue on the backing).
Thanks again!

I like this style. The color choice for the first one is excellent.

I think that the second one is much better; it's very funny and I love the teeth. The shading looks good too. The neck doesn't look like it's attached to the body though. Nice job.
