I'm an open-source and free software supporter. I didn't try it that much because I entered vector worlds just lately. So, i picked illustrator right away. Because, I had a bad experience with GIMP trying to convince myself that it may cover Photoshop. Nothing compete an open-source OS, but when it came to visuals, they are behind.

Inkscape is a professional vector graphics editor for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. It's free and open source. But i not used this. I'm not a good artist. So i needed photo to vector convert. Realdraw 5.2 is great. it's not free and open source. Thanks for share.
