I designed this dice myself , this is actually the second version. First version was build up differently but had a major weak spot. There was one side that could make the dice collapse when it fell on that side.

This one everything is fixed and designed that the paper would hold the shape when it's unfolded.

There is a youtube movie to see it in action.

Developed it my self. I did allot of pop up card work in the summer and learned how to make them. Fairly easy concept actually.

This is kind of Random, but is that why your avatar is kind of like a dice?

I really like this. It's totoally awesome. It shows that design is far more than sitting at a computer most of the day.

Nice one. You should replace the side with the one dot with your logo.

I think that foldable designs were the hardest for me in my graphic design class. I remember once we had to do a POP (point of purchase) display, that had to fully fold down flat.. I butchered it. Did it take you a good while to figure out how to fold the paper just right? Or are you just a natural? :)

I worked with paper for years. Folding a dice compared with folding a yakult bottle is much easier. When I was little I replicate stuff allot in paper. Allot of toys I may not buy I would replicate them but have not save them. Also once sold a white powerranger sword that I made with paper. Made allot but allot thrown away or gave away.

I wonder, if you could somehow produce these with thin durable plastic...would they sell? There just might be a market for these somewhere. Really cool stuff! :D

It is possible however I am not a pro with plastic. Also possible is with rubber but it wouldn't roll that smooth. I can make a few with transparent acrylate sheets and need to test how much they can stand though. Will look into it this weekend cause I have a some sheets laying around and should look if the sheets would not tear after folding it.

But the sheets are harder to fold and work with and probably need to be bigger to be easier to make.

Ok just finished one it is much harder to make but it is possible. But super glue work too fast hehe. How ever I can see the ugly glue though need to find a non transparent sheet to make one that look better.

I'd say its is better and stronger then the paper version, but it get a nasty sharp edge on it cause it is plastic it much harder and sharper. How ever can't see how they could mass produce it. However first need to find a company that would see something in this.
