Very nice work, looks great. There are some issues with getting the code to validate (Frontpage throws out some nasty code), no metatags for search engines...There would be issues if SEO is a concern for you.

But all in all, nice job, and it gets the job done. :)

Thank you for the input. I'll have to look into it the validation issue... could you expand on where you had problems? I'm not too worried about the SEO yet. For now it's really a personal site. That will become more of a consideration in the future.

Thanks again!

Adam

I took it to the W3C validator and tried to validate the CSS...seems there is a link to a CSS styles sheet that doesn't exist. (Delete this link and any code pertaining to it: http://www.adambende.../style/plug.css)

I then tried to validate the HTML: There was no DOCTYPE statement, so I tried to validate it as HTML 4.01 Transitional (the easiest to validate), and there were 44 errors, mostly pertaining to opening and closing tables.

You can go here and validate it yourself to find and fix the errors: http://validator.w3.org/

Then, just for fun (yes, I am a computer geek lol), I ran it through a couple of online tools:

Spider Simulator Your site scored 14/29 or 49%...tough for the internet bots (since SEO isn't a consideration, it's not really a problem, but it's still good knowledge)

Website Optimizer It had several recommendations (though this optimizer makes it very tough to get a good score, unless you have all text and CSS...no images, which won't work for a designer LOL)

Site Score Your site scored a 5.3, not bad actually :)

Go run your site through these tools, and you will see how to improve it, if you wish. Almost all these tools give you instructions on what to do to fix it.

If you have any questions, or need help fixing the coding, feel free to contact me.

You're fantastic! Thank you so much for helping me. I have deleted the stylesheet link and will be using all the tools you listed to improve my site.

Thanks again for taking the time to make my site better!

Nice website. Maybe you could create an intro in flash for the homepage.

I like the overlayout but I'd reccommend a clearer font for the site on the whole . The current font you're using in my opinion is too unclear.
Anyway , I like your work quite a lot . You've definitely got alot of talent :) .

Overall i like the site, i think that you shouldn't put your pieces in boxes? It takes away from the overall design and feel of your work. Also one thing to add to your portfolio that might push it a little would be explanations for each work (type of work, medium, client?)

But i like !

I hate to be a critic but man you really have got to get rid of that Photoshop water-color filtered photo on the home page. I think that same photo unfiltered would look much better. I can tell you that simple use of filters will generate alot of criticism in the design world. It's been overdone and overdone again and it makes you look novice. I'm sorry to be negative but its just an honest opinion.

Howdy

Overall I like the design. As mentioned above, the main picture does need some attention, as well as the font used for the links as well as the spacing between them. It looks cluttered and busy when in all reality, it would serve best (in my eyes) as being relaxed with a casual yet professional feel to it.

Very good start indeed. I like the grey scale portfolio images that go into full color on hover.
