A contest I joined on Deviant Art. Guidelines were: black logo on white background, no special effects & no gradients. Very limiting guidelines but challenging as well. How do u think I do? Really need of comments and suggestion on how to improve my work. Thanks in advance. :)

looks interesting...what is/does it say....this is important;)...;)
a logo needs to stand on its own, naked so to speak...B/W is a normal required variant.

They are too hard to real what it says. The last one works but you see DCA there is a C made by the white around the A. And the D should be made much cleaner shaped. It would ruff while the A inside is very clean.

I will repeat one of the opinions above: looks interesting.
But... so far it doesn't look like a logo to me. More like some symbols gathered in one place. It does not convey any idea/feel/meaning which makes it more like an abstract art than a logo ... at least to me.
Does it say something? I can't read it if so...

May be you should first decide what you would like to express and then start from there - just a suggestion.

thnx. when i made these designs i thought of conveying something "banned". (you know the circle with the diagonal line crossing it? hehe. as deviant means something differing from a norm.) i played around with the concept and thought of a way to mix the letters d & a and this symbol.:D thanks again for your comment. xD

Look at Chung Dha logo, it is simple and use very simple regular forms, in your design I can see some form that are too complex to the simplicity you are looking for. I see more potential in the first one. However need some character. the lines are crossing in too many directions. simple and harmonic is better. Hope this help/ It is just my opinion.

thanks juluque.i really appreciate the suggestions. i have a feeling somethings need to be worked out on these logos and i'm starting to see what needs to be done. even though the contest has ended i may tweak these logos and post the new logo studies here.:)

its kid of hard to read but you got the idea... keep playing around with the letters till you'll get something that you like and that is a bit more clear.
