Hello Jazzz,
The site looked contemporary and professional. However, there were a few things:
The type was a shade dark. Possibly lighten a hair?
The color choice is interesting. Purple with black. You may want to add a third color.
I liked your logo.
You have a good handle on using Photoshop and Flash.
Lots of banners were popping up on the splash.
Navigation-wise, when I clicked on something, and then hit my broweser button to go back, it always brought me back to the homepage, which is where I didn't want to go.
I liked your use of arrows, however, some arrows worked and some didn't. The user will discover that an arrow means a link, so when you have some arrows on there that don't work, it could lead to disappointment.
For the downloads, are those all legal? I know that some software has a 30 day trial, but it was seeming like some of those were complete downloads. You may want to clarify that. In the US there are hefty penalties for pirated software to the tune of $50,000 per software.
Rock on . . .
peace
jc

It could definately use a bit more contrast between the text and background. The motion at the top is a bit much after awhile. Maybe slowly fade the motion out/slow it to a stop/make it just an occasional flicker. I didn't like the clicky-clicky sound on the links.
That is a nice logo, though.

hmmmmzzzz....
If you want to host free, try and choose one that doesn't scare off 90% of your visitors by bombarding them with ads...
Bit to dark... but that is your main look and feel... and sseing it's a hobby site... no worries... always good to express your taste!!! So that's a big plus!
In Safari for the Mac... the flash crashes and flashes... ha ha... was funny -> flash flashing... anyways... not bad but maybe you've tried to many gadgets...???
O and I'm not to happy with flash... for graphics and some sites it really works but sometimes simple css and html is best...

There are a loooot of FREE web hosts out there, that are pop-up and ad free. BUT they may have unreliable service... but what can you expect with a free host?
www.clickherefree.com Has tooons of sites for free web hosts, and you can specify what you want and what you don't want, if you go to advance search.
I like the site Jazzz, but the ads are so overwhelming.
