Hi DC and fellow designers,

I am new here and I certainly apologize for this question. Was browsing the site through, and couldn't find the answer to my confusion.

I have noticed in most of the webdesign contests being posted that the holder can also ask a designer to build/code the designs for them. Are the prizes being posted includes both tasks in the package prize?

Usually, in other design sites, they have different rates..As a designer and developer, both tasks have different costs and when the ch requires coding that's another extra. I am not sure how it works here in DC, though I don't have a problem with it...just some clarification.

Thanks in advance for letting me know what is at stake and how things work around here.

:)

From my understanding, unless it's specified in the brief, the website design itself without coding is $400 for one page, then $150 for every page after.

I think I know which contest you're referring to... the contest holder mentioned in the comment section that she's willing to only receive the .psd and then afterwards open a one-on-one to get the design up and running with Wordpress. So you would think if you did both the design and coding, you should get more than the $400 prize amount.

Website contests are for the graphics design template ready for coding and slicing. The ch can ask if anyone in the contest codes and open a 1on1 project if they want or need coding

Thanks Sharie...my next question is...if you are invited to a 1 on 1 for coding the design, will it be another fee? who will set the fees for that? the design contest? CH? or depends on the programmer?

Sorry so many questions...but thanks in advance for answering :)

The dollar amount the ch pays you for this is negotiated between you and the contestholder through the 1on1 project, the dollar amount is agreed by both parties before the project is paid and opened
